The all-new 2016 Jaguar XE has been launched in Indian market after an exclusive preview at the on-going 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Jaguar will start selling the executive sedan by the end of this month, with prices starting from INR 39.90 Lakhs onwards (Ex-showroom Delhi).
The new XE is the first entry-level premium sedan from the legendary brand that primarily targets the mighty sedans from the German brands such as the BMW 3-Series, Audi A4, and the Mercedes C-Class. Unveiled in the 2014 Paris Auto Show, the XE sits on the JLR's newly developed scalable "iQ" lightweight aluminium platform. The sedan is also the first to feature the new-generation "Ingenium" engines that is now widely shared with the other Jaguar cars. The XE is certainly a great feat in Jaguar's strong comeback in recent times.

The Indian-spec XE is now offered only with a 2.0-litre petrol motor that is available in two output figures - 197 hp (147 kW) and 240 hp (177 kW). The engine is paired with a standard 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox along with paddle shifters. Since the local assembly of the XE has just commenced, Jaguar may launch the Ingenium range diesels in the months come.
The large honey-comb grille with side-flowing headlamps and their LED-DRLs dominates the frontal image of the car, while the long bonnet, chunky wheel arches and chrome fender vents define the elegant side profiles. A subtle rear-spoiler ans LED tail lamps complete the exterior design of the XE.

On the inside, a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel similar to that of the F-type and premium-looking dashboard grabs the attention. The 8-inch InControl Touch infotainment system and rotary gear selector are the major highlights inside the cabin. Leather seats are well-designed and plush.
With the new XE, the company in India can accommodate many new buyers in the entry-level executive saloon segment, thanks to competitive pricing and localisation.
