New Discovery 5

It's more of a renaissance here for Land Rover's mid-size SUV - the 2017 LR Discovery. Underpinning an all-new platform beneath the contemporary LR family styling, the new Discovery has been unveiled in the run up the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The world premiere event that happened yesterday saw the launch of the new car on a Lego replica of the Tower Bridge in London - world's largest Lego structure ever built for any purpose! As grandeur as the car in itself!!

Stepping up to its fifth generation, the new Discovery sits on a new aluminium-intensive Premium Lightweight Architecture (PLA) platform, along with the 2017 Range Rover Sport and Range Rover models. The car has grown in length by 141 mm (measuring 4.97 metres), with an increased wheel-base of 38 mm, while shedding almost 480 kgs of kerb weight than the previous model. Noticeably, the design is strikingly new and more contemporary, warding-off the traditional boxy styling of the all previous Discovery models. The car looks more sophisticated and premium now, thanks to the brand's signature grille and LED headlamp treatment, along with the neat side profile and a balanced rear design with streamlined contours of quarter windows and LED tail lamps.
