2017 Tesla Model S (Facelift)

Tesla Motors has recently revealed the face-lifted Model S with few styling and interior tweaks. Since its inception in 2011, Model S has grabbed the entire motoring world's attention not just for its pure-electric and high-tech pedigree, but also equally for its design. With the facelift, the Model S now looks more like its latest siblings - Model X and Model 3. Ranked as the world's best selling plug-in electric vehicle in 2015, the Model S is the most technologically-advanced and enchanting full-size luxury electric car one can buy in this planet.

Recognisably, the new styling gets cues the brand's latest design language, especially following the theme of the Model X and the just unveiled Model 3 sedan. The face of the car is refreshingly new, with the slender grille design bordered by sweeping, stylish headlamps, which now feature adaptive full-LED 14-inch, 3-position dynamic turning lights. The lower vent appears slightly enlarged, while the side and rear profile of the 5-door liftback largely remains the same.

Moving on to the inside, Tesla has slapped the car with scores of new options including two new trim accents and a "medical grade" HEPA air-filtration system borrowed from Model X. The air-purification system, according to the company, clears at least 99.97% of particulate exhaust pollution along with allergens, bacteria and other contaminants from the cabin. Other features includes an 17-inch tablet-like infotainment system supporting Bluetooth/ USB connectivity and navigation, rain-sensing wipers, rear-view camera, and a power liftgate. Of course, any special reference to the car's semi-autonomous Autopilot system with top-mounted camera, lower-grille radar and ultrasonic acoustic location sensors is unwarranted!

In terms of powertrain and layout options, Tesla Model S comes with a wide-range of options depending on the market. The most popular is the 70D and 90D variants - dual-motor, all-wheel drive systems that deliver max power output ranging from 328 to 463 hp (P90D variant), with a driving range of 230-294 miles on a single charge. Although there are no changes in the technicals, Tesla has switched to advanced 48-amp charging system that may help to reduce charging durations.
