Based on the Brio/ Mobilio platform, the BR-V could be priced in the INR 8-12 lakh price bracket - more or less in the compact SUV segment that has seen new launched in recent times.
According to the company, the new BR-V embraces the “Active Solid Motion” design philosophy that includes the new pronounced chrome-finish signature grille, angular head lights and sharp-cut character lines and body surfaces. The car is characterised by long, dynamic window line (like that of the Honda Mobilio) with huge glasshouse, more muscular roof rails, diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels, and black plastic accent in the lower part of the car across the sides.

The BR-V is not a sub-4 metre car and measures 4,455 mm long, 1,735 mm high, and 1,650 mm wide. While the wheelbase measurement is 2,660 mm, the car stands 200 mm above the ground. It can seat up to seven passengers and the last row has been designed for 50:50 split configuration. Therefore, the BR-V tries to be a proper SUV than a usual 7-seat MPV.

Although the details about the Indian-spec BR-V was not revealed at the show, it is expected that Honda will offer 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines with a standard 6-speed manual transmission. A automatic variant may follow suit later. Safety features such as dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and Hill Start Assist are going to be available in the BR-V trim either.
Once launched in the Indian compact SUV market, buyers will find a new and stronger choice along with the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano, and Renault Duster.
