Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has unveiled the powerful Fiat Linea 125s T-Jet petrol at the on-going 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. As the moniker suggests, the Linea 125s will deliver a class-topping power output of 125 PS, even winning over the present toppers Hyundai Verna (123 PS) and Honda City (119 PS).
The power-packed Linea is expected to reach our Indian showrooms by mid-2016.

The Linea 125s is powered by the same 1.4-litre turbo-charged 'T-Jet' petrol engine that is currently on the offer in the Linea range. However, the power delivery has been optimised by an additional 11 PS from the current 114 PS calibration, with a total 125 PS at 5,000 rpm and 210 Nm of peak torque at 2,200 rpm. Once launched, the Linea 125s will become the most-powerful mid-size sedan in the Indian market. The 5-speed manual gearbox has been retained from the previous version.
The Linea T-Jet, launched back in 2012, is acclaimed for an acceleration of 0–100 km/h in just 10.2 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 200 km/h. The new 125s is expected to show a marginally improved performance than the previous model.

In terms of exterior and interior design, the new Linea 125s is skin to the face-lifted Linea that is already on sale for almost two years. Only visible modification is the glossy-black horizintal stripes in the front grille and lower air-dam on the bumper, and the dark black alloys. Some of the features that will be offered in the 125s includes the rain-sensing wipers, automatic twin-profiled headlamps, and ABS with EBD, along with host of other features from the regular model. The touch-screen infortainment system on the centre console now gets GPS navigation feature.
Apart from unveiling the Fiat Avventura Urban Cross and the entry-level Punto Pure models at the show, FCA also promoted the first-ever entry of the legendary Jeep brand into the Indian market, with the debut of Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.
