Chevrolet Beat Activ Concept - 2016 Auto Expo

On the first day of the 2016 Auto Expo, Chevrolet unveiled its Beat Activ Concept for the Indian audience.

The concept is based on the next-generation Beat hatchback that is due for launch next year in India. In other words, this concept previews the up-coming Chevy Beat and the cross-hatch version likely to be called as the Beat Activ.

In terms of design, the Beat Activ features the latest family design language of the brand, although retaining the two-layer grille and sweeping-out headlamps, which now gets LED strip in the concept version. The rounded fog lamps gets dotted LEDs as well. There are well-crafted plastic cladding in the lower part of the car all-over its body, which is very much neatly integrated into the cars design and doesn't look artificial. At the back, the tail lamp clusters are now stretched down a bit, while the overall shape and silhouette remains largely unchanged from the previous model. Personally, the light green exterior pain job with added graphics looks fantastic and smart, especially for its size and new design.

The Chevy Beat Activ Concept will influence the development of the new Beat-based cross-hatch.
The interiors have been spruced-up either. The seats and dashboard design have been 'smart-fixed' and the concept features dual-tone along with the exterior colour combination cabin. The centre console houses a 7 inch MyLink infotainment touchscreen system and the front seats now get fixed headrests. The standalone instrument cluster is retained as well.

GM did not say anything about the engine line-up since this is a concept. Besides the Beat Activ, Chevrolet also unveiled the Beat hatch-based Essentia sub-4m compact sedan and the Spin MPV at the show, apart from previewing the global-spec Chevy Colorado Pick-up Truck.
