2016 Audi R8 V10 Plus launched

The latest Audi R8 V10 Plus, which received global premiere at the Geneva motor show last year, has been launched in India at the just opened 2016 Delhi auto expo for a price of INR 2.47 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). Featuring a 610 hp V10 engine and a newly developed quattro drive, the R8 can achieve a top speed of 330 kmph.

Audi's high-performance sports car's silhouette is flat, wide, and muscular, giving it a more powerful super-car look than the previous generation. The elongated honeycomb grille complements the grid-type signature LED day-time headlamps. On the sides, curved contours are drawn over the wheels. The shoulder line connects the wheels with one another, also dividing the side blade in two to leave an upper and a lower half at the same time. Overall, the R8 appears even more longer and dynamic. The car's interiors are also updated, featuring digital virtual cockpit and MMI monitor.

The high-performance car shares technical platform with the Lamborghini Huracan. It is significantly lighter than its predicessor, thanks to an all-alluminium body and multi-material Audi Space Frame (ASF) that ensures low weight and optimum axle load distribution.

Audi R8 will be sold in India via CKD from Germany.

The high-performance 2-seater car is powered by a 5.2-litre freely aspirated V10 engine that pumps out 610 hp and 560 Nm of max power and torque. The engine is mater to a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox, along with an updated Quattro drive system.

Audi India will import this supercar via CKD route from Germany.
