The new A4 (B9) measuring 4.73 meters long, with a wheelbase of 2.82 meters, is slightly larger and around 120 kgs lighter than the out-going (B8) sedan. Built on the VW's "Group B" platform (also shared by 2016 Audi Q7), the car's exterior boasts an applauding aero-dynamic drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd.
Audi's new executive sedan will most likely be offered with two engine options in India. This includes a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol unit capable of 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit making up to 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque. An S-tronic automatic transmission is also expected in both the variants.
Moving to the design and styling, the new A4 features large 6-point Audi Singleframe grille, and an inverted "L"-shaped headlamps with optional Matrix LED technology up-front. The horizontal lines and the wrap-around hood is very attractive, while the dynamic flowing lines along the sides give the car a sporty, elongated look. The A3-inspired LED taillights, moulded rear spoiler, and dual exhaust pipes completes the rear.
Inside, the cabin features Audi’s new interior design language that was first seen in the new Q7, a stark leap for the A4 in terms of cabin trim, build quality and equipment. The Virtual Cockpit instrument display is now optional in this car. Other goodies includes an 8.3-inch head-up display, Bang and Olufsen Sound System with 3D sound, and an Audi phone box with wireless charging.
