“They say anything worth having is worth the wait” is an old
saying. What could be more cherished than a big beefy SUV with a “Big B” flying
wings insignia on it?? And the long wait has finally paid off, the Bentley
Bentayga - touted as "the fastest, most powerful, luxurious and exclusive
SUV ever made in planet earth" - has been officially revealed ahead of next
week's big show.
To start with, the all-new Bentayga is Bentley's first
production SUV and follows the footsteps of the EXP 9 F concept from 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Although better than the original concept in terms of looks
and design, the front fascia closely mimics that of Continental GT and Flying
Spur, except those B-shaped front fender vents. The rear end is a bit gawky
while muscular haunches add character to the vehicle. Personally, the car's
design isn't that sensational as aspired but reinforces the brand's family
styling with a muscular character. The interiors also feels familiar, like the
split cockpit design that comes with premium leather upholstery and a choice of
seven different veneers.

The luxury SUV features an unibody construction, based on
Volkswagen's MLB platform, which is also used in the new 2016 Audi Q7. The
aluminum-intensive body enables 236 kgs of weight saving compared to conventional
steel.
Under the hood is a 6-liter twin-turbo W12 engine featuring both direct and indirect injection, cylinder deactivation tech, and a stop/start system with coasting mode. It pumps out 600 bhp and 900 Nm of max power and torque. Combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a full time all-wheel drive system, the Bentayga can clock 0-100 kmph in just 4.0 seconds before hitting a top speed of 301 kmph, making it the fastest production SUV till date. Bentley claims an decent fuel efiiciency rating of 12.8 L/100 km (as per UK standards) with CO2 emissions of 292 g/km.

Bentley. The dashboard features an infotainment system with an 8-inch
touchscreen display, a 60GB in-built hard drive, a 10.2-inch Android tablet for
rear-seat fun, and audio system choices by Naim. The front seats are 22 way
adjustable with ventilation, heating, and massaging functions. Customers can
choose between 5-seat or 4-seats layout (two individual rear seats). The SUV
boasts a standard panoramic glass roof which is split into two panes and an electric
full-length roller blind.

brand familiar catalog for 90 plus color choices and limitless customization
options, the Bentayga is the Ultra-Luxe SUV your money can buy in this world.
Bentley is yet to reveal the car's pricing and will start
deliveries by the early next year in Europe. The Bentayga will fly in the face
of upcoming uber-cool SUVs from the likes of Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lamborghini,
Maserati, and Rolls-Royce.
