The new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is said to been the principal attraction at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The car, which is available in India since November last year, is an outrageous option to the regular supercars. Priced at Rs. 3.69 crores ex-showroom (New Delhi), Aventador comes with a top speed of 350 kmph with zero to one hundred kmph in just 2.9 seconds!
Just inches behind the right ear of the driver sits 12 gloriously trumpeting cylinders, which are longitudinally placed, together making 6498cc to call upon its 690bhp of power at 8250rpm. The carbon fibre monocoque, occupant cell, with tub and roof is made in one single unit giving the frame an enhanced level of rigidity and outstanding driving precision. The permanant all-wheel drive with drive mode select for track and road capabilities makes it even more safer and precise. Lamborghini has opted for a single-clutch, seven-speed, robotised gearbox for the Aventador - the company says it makes for the a more 'emotional' gearshift as opposed to the smoother shifts of a twin-clutch system.
A lot has been inspired from the Formula-One. The pushrod and damper suspension, powerful carbon ceramic brakes, whopping lighter yet stiffer body and 50 milli-second gear shifting time proves the same. One have to flip up a red cover to thumb the starter button, reminding you the seriousness of the business! The Aventador is a tamer version of Murcielago, unbelievably quick, phenomenally entertaining and is made of cutting edge tech.
