2017 Suzuki GSX R 250 (Gixxer 250) Revealed

Gixxer 250 India

Delivers 24.7 hp and 23.3 Nm of peak output. Indian launch yet to be confirmed officially.

Suzuki has unveiled the latest entrant to the popular GSX-R sportbike series - the R 250. Positioned between the GSX-R 150 (Gixxer in India) and R 600, the new bike inherits design and styling cues from its bigger sibling - typical MotoGP-inspired garb with sharp-cut lines, larger front fairing, protruding fuel tank, and high seating.

Powered by a 248cc twin-cylinder (parallel) liquid-cooled petrol engine with a 4-valve DOHC system, the GSX-R 250 generates a peak output of 24.7 hp power at 8,000 rpm and 23.3 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. A 6-speed transmission sends power to the rear wheel. With a wheel base of 1,430 mm, the new GSX-R weighs just 178 kgs.

The single mono-shock suspension is complemented by disc brakes on both the wheels. The GSX-R 250 will take on the Honda CBR 250RR, Kawasaki Z250, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Benelli TNT 300, and Yamaha YZF-R3 in the international market. It will be available in two paint job options - Livery blue MotoGP and Red-Black theme.
