The Mustang is essentially an 'American' performance car that is very much unique to the North American markets. In fact, the Mustang inspired a whole new class of highly styled, sporty or cars in 1960s America called as 'Pony cars'. It is manufactured at the company's Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan, and is exported to other worldly markets.

The 2015 Ford Mustang is in its sixth-generation and was revealed in 2013, with sales starting last year in the United States. Unlike its earlier models, the current model features a fully independent rear suspension system that includes an all-new front perimeter sub-frame and a double-ball-joint MacPherson struts. This pony car comes in two body styles - a 2-Door Coupé Fastback and a 2-Door Convertible.

Ford Mustang gets posh interiors and SYNC multimedia system
The 'casual' muscle car bags the company's SYNC multimedia system, Blind Spot warning system, and MyKey keyless start. Ford India may be thinking of building a respectable brand image with this car, exhibiting the company's real prowess on sports cars to the Indian customers. There is no official word on tech-spec or pricing, but considering that the EcoBoost 4-cylinder Mustang is sold for a whooping INR 40.21 lakhs (399,800 yuan) in China (from January this year), Ford India may price the car between INR 30-40 lakhs. Ironically, the Mustang is relatively cheaper in the US at $25,300 (INR 15.81 lakh) due to volume sales and local production.

Ford is reported to launch three other products in India this years, apart from the Mustang. The company unveiled the must-awaited sub-4 metre compact sedan Figo 'Aspire' last week, which will go on sale by June this year. The new Figo hatch and the next-gen Endeavour SUV are also due for launch later this year.
